SN Power_ESIA of Middle Yeywa Hydropower Project

This Environmental and Social Impact Assessment Report (ESIA) is prepared by a combined team of international and national experts on behalf of SN Power, for the Middle Yeywa Hydropower Project on the Myitnge (Nam Tu) River located in Shan State. The baseline data survey is done from 2015 to 2018 and the EIA is intended to meet the requirements of Myanmar EIA Procedures (2015) and Environmental Compliance Certificate (ECC) under the Ministry of Natural Resources and Environmental Conservation (MONREC).

Party's obligation in the implementation of the project

In relation to the requirements from international funders and national environmental authorities, SN Power will have the overall responsibility for implementing and coordinating all social and environmental mitigation activities and programs.

Environmental protection obligation

Environmental and Social Unit (ESU) of the company will implement preventative measures to protect the environment by carrying out environmental monitoring and supervision during the project phases in cooperation with the contractors.

Environmental fund summary

The total estimated cost for implementing environmental and social management plans is 13,261,450 USD for pre-construction (1 year) and construction (6 years).
