Lineage The April 2016 version of the World Database on Protected Areas (WDPA) was used for protected area data The April 2016 version of the World Database on Protected Areas (WDPA) was used for protected area data i) the most recent version of the WDPA can be found here: http://www.protectedplanet.net/ The EEZv8_WVS_DIS_v3_All_final_v7dis.shp was used as a base layer for the world's terrestrial and marine areas i) this data is a combination of Exclusive Economic Zones (EEZ; VLIZ 2014) and terrestrial country boundaries (World Vector Shoreline, 3rd edition, National Geospatial-Intelligence Agency).
