Regional Land Cover

The dataset contains a raster version of the GlobCover land cover map produced for the year 2009, clipped to the Greater Mekong Region. The land cover image is derived from the 300m MERIS sensor on board the ENVISAT satellite mission. Comprehensive explanatory notes of the GlobCover project and products (methods, legend and validation) are summarized in a document named “GLOBCOVER 2009 – Products description and validation report”, which can be downloaded on this ftp site. You will find the following files within the zip file (Globcover2009_V2.3_LMR_.zip) in addition to a “ReadMe” file.
