This report highlights a study on a reservoir fisheries management in Savannakhet province, Laos.The study covers a set of reservoirs and small waterbodies under different management systems (open access, community management, or renting out to individuals). The outcomes of different management systems and practices are studied in terms of their effects on fish stocks and the benefits derived from the fishery. The structure of study is included but not limited into project background, project purpose, research activities, project outputs, and contribution to the outputs. The study concludes that project results are unlikely to lead major policy changes. However, villagers and other stakeholders are interested to increase the existing benefits of community fisheries through improvements in marketing and technical management.
