A study of women’s time utilization in relation to the market economy in Khammouane Province, Lao PDR. 19 November 2005

In economic studies of time allocation in developing countries the distinction between work inside and outside the home has been interpreted literally with the rather ludicrous result that activities such as fetching water and collection of firewood are counted as activities outside the home and are thus classed with employment in factories.
