first-iwrm-assessment-report-for-the-four-case-basins-glomma-tagus-sesan-and-tungabhadra

This report assesses to what extent Integrated Water Resource Management (IWRM) principles have been followed in the four STRIVER case basins- Glomma, Sesan, Tagus, and Tungabhadra. The report also evaluates the process towards implementing IWRM in the different basins. The assessment is undertaken through a comparative analysis, or “twinning” approach, and based on two reports from each basin. The comparative assessment focuses on five components of IWRM: (i) protection of the catchment and the environment; (ii) measures to ensure efficient and equitable use of water, (iii) institutional analysis and stakeholder involvement in water management, (iv) capacity building, and (v) transboundary issues.
