Beginning by outlining the current state of forests and forestry, it then describes trends that will influence future developments including demographic and economic changes, environmental issues and energy demands. Probable scenarios and a vision for forestry over the next two decades are considered. The report is the second in a series of Asia-Pacific Forestry Sector Outlook Studies which promote understanding of the changing relationships between society and forests.
