PM Opens Kampot Hydrodam

The Chinese-built Kamchay dam project is located in Kampot province with a large production capacity of 193.2MW and total cost of 280 million US dollars has inaugurated by prime minister Hun Sen in December 2011. The construction is under 40 years of build-operate-transfer(BOT) agreement between China Sinohydro corporation and the Royal Government of Cambodia (RGC). The dam can increase the power output of Cambodia by nearly 40 percent and will starts its operation in March 2012.
