Water resources are strongly influenced by climate change

According to Associate Professor Dr. Le Bac Huynh, of the Vietnam Association for the Conservation of Nature and Environment (VACNE), Vietnam has a moderate level of water resources availability compared to other countries but many factors that make these resources less sustainable.

For example, in the dry season, some areas in Vietnam face water shortages, particulalry in the South East, South Central and Central Highland areas. Total surface water reserves in Vietnam are about 830-840 billion m3, of which 63% flows from foreign countries.
