Forest Fires in Lower Mekong Countries

This dataset indicates the forest fires occurred within April 2020, which is a hottest month of the year. It includes 5 countries such as Cambodia, Laos, Myanmar, Thailand, and Vietnam. The fire detection sensor is Moderate Resolution Imaging Spectroradiometer (MODIS) . Only the high confident data was selected for this dataset.

Tính đầy đủ	Not all fires are detected. There are several reasons why VIIRS may not have detected a certain fire. The fire may have started and ended between satellite overpasses. The fire may have been too small or too cool to be detected in the 375-meter pixel. Cloud cover, heavy smoke, or tree canopy may completely obscure a fire. It is not recommended to use active fire locations to estimate burned area due to spatial and temporal sampling issues. When zoomed out, this data layer displays some degree of inaccuracy because the data points must be collapsed to be visible on a larger scale. Zoom in for greater detail.
(Các) quy trình thu thập và xử lý dữ liệu	It is the forest fire detected by MODIS Collection 6. The data was downloaded from Fire Information for Resource Management System. Only high confident forest fire (more than 90 degree) were extracted for making this dataset.
