Tên Nothing sweet about it: how sugar fuels land grabs
Mô tả

Land grabbing is a bitter secret in the sugar supply chains of some of the world’s biggest food and beverage companies. Poor communities across the globe are in dispute or have lost their land to make way for sugar plantations. People who lose their land, often lose their homes and also their main source of food and income. Oxfam’s Behind the Brands campaign of 2013,focused on 10 of the world’s most powerful food and beverage companies. Sugar, soy and palm oil use large areas of land globally. This media brief summarises the problem of land grabbing that is affecting poor communities world wide.
