The objective of this FPIC brief is to provide summaries of how FPIC and robust consultation procedures have been applied in practice in Cambodia across various sectors and activities. It intends to show that FPIC can be applied under various circumstances and that its application will lead to a general improvement of the communication and understanding between Government institutions, private investors and the concerned communities. The discussion note what FPIC is and describes the FPIC regulatory framework relevant to the Cambodian context. It then describe four case studies where FPIC procedures have been applied with relative success and the lessons learned from these experiences.
