Research brief: Youth political participation in Cambodia
Địa chỉ: http://www.kas.de/wf/doc/kas_49315-1522-2-30.pdf?170621035737
Conducted by a group of media-savvy youth interested in politics, the so-called Politikoffee, and with the support of Konrad Adenauer Stiftung (KAS) in Cambodia, the research brief aims to identify key political participation trends among youth in Cambodia; challenge the dominant, negative according to which youth are not interested in participating politically; and draw on existing research to illustrate and reiterate the importance of youth political participation. The brief draws on secondary data from various sources such as NGOs, think-tank and government on the topic of youth and political participation. There is a strong evidence to suggest that youth are willing to participate politically via informal participation platforms, despite limited political environment, cultural norms, economic factors or limited education. This trend will continue to grow alongside technological advances and against social and political limitations.
