Outcomes of the Greater Mekong subregion tourism Infrastructure for Inclusive growth Project that aimed to increase tourism benefits for women and men especially ethnic/indigenous communities living in underdeveloped segments of GMS central corridor in Laos. Highlights how the project has proceeded and been implemented with ethnic communities, covers project background, social impact assessment, consultation and participation, project impacts, beneficial and mitigative measures and implementation, monitoring and institutional arrangements. In conclusion the findings indicate that project has directly benefited communities, tourist numbers have increased, and the project has generated employment/incomes through selling food, tour guiding, home-stay accommodation and handicrafts sales.
